As reported by Tom Greenwood in the Detroit News Michigan State Police  and Local law enforcement agencies have received federal funding  for Alcohol enforcement this weekend. What this means is that State and local police agencies such as The NOVI , FARMNGTON, FARMINGTON HILLS, WALLED LAKE , MILFORD , SOUTH LYON police departments as well as THE  Wayne , Oakland and Livingston County sheriffs departments will  have more officers on the roads looking for those who had a little too much fun and decided to drive home. My Advice , have fun but get a ride home, have a DD, call cab stay in a hotel. Read the article below and know that the odds of getting pulled over during this enforcement blitz are much higher.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                              The Michigan State Police has decided that if its drunken driver crackdown worked before/during and after St. Patrick’s Day, then it’ll fly for the finals of the NCAA basketball tournament.

Accordingly, more than 160 law agencies in 26 counties will continue drunken driving enforcement through April 2, with overtime being paid with federal funds administered through the Office of Highway Safety Planning, a division of the MSP.

Last year, between March 15 and April 4, police arrested 2,215 people for drunken driving, with 613 registering a blood alcohol content of .17 or higher.
