Request a Child Support Review as Soon as Possible

Child support is always reviewable, within certain time frames. If you have been divorced and paying child support for years, then lose your job, you are entitled to a child support review. It is extremely important to contact an attorney as soon as possible to petition the court for a child support review. Child support modifications are retroactive only to the date of filing for a review. So, if you lose your job in January, but don’t file for a child support review until March, you are still responsible for paying the original amount of child support for January and February.
